The original grid-lines from the note card plan are reproduced on the chalkboard in permanent marker. These lines are the foundation of the chalk translation of each note card. The grid-plan colors are translated into colored sidewalk-chalk. Once the lines are translated, the image is embellished – shapes are filled in with color, and images superimposed over the patterns and shapes.
