The Third Shift: The midnight-to-eight-am shift, also known as the “Graveyard Shift.”
Shift Work: The practice of dividing the day into three 8 hour shifts, making it possible for work to occur all twenty–four-hours. The term can also refer to long-term overnight work, or rotating day-and-night shifts.
